Dennis Harris, Minister of Music
Dennis Harris provides a blended form of worship at Fellowship with a variety of both favorite hymns and worship songs, and modern worship. Born in Kilgore, Texas, Dennis started playing guitar in his own rock band at age twelve. He played trombone, baritone and string bass in school bands, trombone in Kilgore College and bass guitar in the Kilgore College Stage Band.
Dennis graduated from Kilgore High School in 1971 and earned an associates degree at Kilgore College in 1973. He spent a short time at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce with a major in photography and a minor in business management. Ever since 1976 Dennis has worked with personal computers and earned various certifications in networking.
In 1980, Dennis married Patti Tompkins of Noonday, Texas. They have three wonderful children and even more grandchildren.
Dennis gave his life to Christ at the age of twelve at a revival at Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City, Texas. After Patti and he were married he was asked to fill in for a couple of weeks as Music Director at Eastview Baptist Church in Kilgore. He has been directing music ever since. He was ordained in 1984 by Eastview Baptist Church and later served as music minister at Central Baptist Church in Longview. In 1994, he was called to Fellowship as music minister.
